PWCOC Scholarship Award Ceremony, June 29, 2023

On Wednesday June 29, 2023, our office manager, Corrine Cottrell and law clerk, Staci Esterman, attended a Professional Women of Chatham and Orange County (PWCOC) meeting at Starrlight Meadery in Pittsboro, North Carolina where PWCOC handed out scholarships to help women meet business needs. It was a lovely event with a fantastic group of women who each offer something different to the community.

The PWCOC offers this scholarship opportunity once a year. Women can apply for specific needs such as a training course, workshop, equipment, etc. The scholarship is funded through donations and fundraising from the sale of trendy purple tote bags. There were six scholarships of $750 awarded at the meeting and everyone who applied but did not receive a scholarship was awarded a $50 gift certificate. On their website, there are opportunities to donate and apply for the next round of scholarships.

PWCOC is a great opportunity for women in business in Chatham and Orange counties to come together and learn about what each woman does. It is a wonderful network of women who offer the connections to the community that the Munson Law Firm highly values.
